They had a hit with their song Bang, Bang in 2014 and again in 2016 with the track Side To Side. So Ariana Grande didn’t hesitate before teaming up with Nicki Minaj for yet another song, releasing the video for the track The Light Is Coming via Reebok.com on Wednesday.
The sultry and shadowy video shows the pop starlet sauntering around a forest carrying an orb of light and donning a leather micro-mini with gem-adorned crop top. The video for the Pharell Williams produced song came from the mind of director Dave Meyers, who was also behind Ari’s No Tears Left To Cry video.
Starting off with Nicki’s verse, the rap queen looks glam as can be as she emerges from fog and darkness wearing wrap-around sunglasses with a long coat and sweeping blonde tresses. Things shift to Ariana, who looked alluring ever as she wanders through the trees dancing with Reebok sneakers on foot.
Of course she sported her signature high ponytail, which cascaded from her crown smoothly. At one point the forest becomes illuminated by red laser lights. Pivoting back to darkness, one Ariana turns into several identical figures prancing around and singing in the spotlight.
Getting up close and personal with the camera, the Florida native revealed glowing skin, a nude point and shimmering eyes with winged liner. The Light Is Coming is the first track of of Ariana’s forthcoming album Sweetener. It marks the fifth song the rap queen of Nickelodeon alum have worked on together. The album, Sweetener, is set for released in August 17 and available for pre-order now.
