Scarlett Johansson flashes giant rock on engagement finger as she claims she’s ‘too busy’ to settle down

She recently claimed that she tries to keep the ‘prying eye at arm’s length’ when it comes to her personal life. However, it seems that Scarlett Johansson still knows how to create a storm of publicity – as she attended the Venice Film Festival sporting a giant sparkler on her engagement finger to promote her new film Under The Skin.

And while the actress has continually denied any reports that she is engaged to boyfriend Romain Dauriac, she is clearly loving the attention of showing off her ring in front of fans. Promoting her new independent move Under The Skin, Scarlett looked as glamorous as ever in a pair of high-waisted trousers and a striped top.

But all eyes were on her her huge diamond ring, that had a gold band. However a representative for the actress told People in July that the star ‘is not engaged nor close to being engaged’ after she was spotted wearing one while out and about. A source told the publication that the ring, which was a recent gift, is ‘simply a piece of jewelry.’

And Scarlett, who was married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2010, claimed to ELLE magazine recently that marriage is ‘really not important’ to her.  Back in February, the actress was first seen sporting a pair cut diamond ring on her engagement finger, but her latest piece of jewelry appears to be new to her growing collection of faux engagement rings.

Scarlett began dating her French journalist boyfriend Romain in November last year, having finished with her previous boyfriend Nate Naylor just a month earlier. The actress also revealed in an interview recently that isn’t ‘having kids anytime soon,’]

Saying: ‘I’m in a nice relationship, I’m working a lot and, like I said, it’s not important to me.’ And in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine the actress reveals she definitely wants to have kids in the future but at the moment she is enjoying such a productive and rewarding period of acting she doesn’t want to take time out to have a baby.

She said: ‘Eventually I want to have a family, and that would be my focus, but right now I’m having fun with it. There have been times in my career where I’ve struggled to find … I was stuck for a while. It was more difficult, maybe, to find the right thing to do. Now I’m enjoying a really productive, creative period.’
