Scarlett Johansson during a remote talk show appearance Monday revealed the first gift that she ever received from husband Colin Jost. The 36-year-old actress discussed the gift-giving style of Colin while promoting her new movie Black Widow on Late Night With Seth Meyers on NBC. ‘The first thing he ever got me was, I guess he went on some trip, when he did stand-up he goes all over the place and then he’ll go to, like, these weird little antique malls and stuff and find haunting presents for people,’ Scarlett told Seth.
‘And he got me a bullfrog, like, a taxidermy bullfrog playing I think like the banjo or something like that,’ revealed Scarlett, who wore a white collared shirt, black jacket and dangling earrings for her remote appearance. The actress said that Saturday Night Live star Colin just left the gift sitting on the floor for her along with a card that said ‘Hi Scarlett’.
‘Or something like that. It was just so creepy. And then I tried to get rid of it, but I felt bad throwing it away because it was the first present he got me,’ she added. Scarlett said that Colin then started moving it around her house and she would find it in a drawer while getting a glass for her six-year-old daughter Rose or in her closet.
‘It was awful, absolutely awful,’ Scarlett admitted. Scarlett and Colin got engaged in May 2019 and were married in October 2020. It was reported earlier this month by the New York Post’s Page Six that Scarlett and Colin were expecting their first child together, but they have not confirmed it.
She was neither asked about nor mentioned being pregnant during her remote appearance on the NBC talk show. Scarlett was promoting Black Widow which premiered last week in theaters and on the Disney+ streaming service. Black Widow also starring Florence Pugh, 25, was originally scheduled for release in May 2020, but it was delayed three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
