Stranger Things Crossover Art Imagines Eleven As Wednesday Addams

Eleven from Stranger Things is reimagined as Wednesday Addams in a fun new piece of crossover art inspired by Netflix’s Wednesday. First released in 2016, the Duffer Brothers’ horror/ fantasy show has since become one of Netflix’s most popular offerings. After escaping from a dubious government laboratory in Hawkins, Indiana, Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven has become a superhero of sorts, using her telekinetic powers to take down an array of otherworldly monsters from an alternate dimension. Stranger Things season 4 is the latest to release on the streamer, seeing Eleven and her gang of friends facing their biggest challenge in the form of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).

Although Stranger Things remains one of the streamer’s most popular offerings, Netflix’s Wednesday has also become a big hit, with Jenna Ortega taking on the role of the titular member of the iconic Addams family. In an impressive new piece of fan art from artist @thesonnyfive on Instagram, a crossover between the two shows is imagined, with Eleven taking on the role of Wednesday herself.

Could Audiences See A Darker Version Of Eleven In Stranger Things Season 5?

Although Eleven is a far cry from Wednesday, the ending to Stranger Things season 4 suggests the character could be in for some changes as she faces her biggest challenges yet in the upcoming final season. The finale sees Hawkins essentially become ground zero for an Upside Down incursion into the real world and Vecna, while momentarily defeated, remains alive. Stranger Things season 5’s story will seemingly feature Eleven becoming Earth’s main defense against the horrors of the Upside Down, with the character potentially having to access darker, more extreme parts of herself and her powers in order to protect the people she loves.

So far, throughout all seasons of Stranger Things, Eleven has been able to use her powers to defeat every villain that the Upside Down has thrown at her. To break the pattern of Eleven always coming to the rescue, season 5 could instead choose to feature a darker turn from Brown’s character potentially as a result of her being taken over by Vecna or the powers of the Upside Down. This would allow other Stranger Things characters like Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Max (Sadie Sink) to play a more prominent and impactful role as they fight to return their friend to her former self.

It’s unclear what the Duffer Brothers have in store for fans with the upcoming final season of their hit Netflix show, but Eleven will evidently play a prominent role in whatever comes next. Eleven and Wednesday are clearly very different characters, but the crossover art does suggest that it could be interesting to see Brown’s character undergo something of a darker arc as part of the many challenges that lie ahead for Hawkins. Considering that Stranger Things season 5 filming isn’t expected to start until next year, it will, unfortunately, be quite a while before fans get a good idea of what’s to come.
