Guinness World Records Who Gives Birth To The Most Children: Mother Delivered Nine Babies

On May 4, 2022, the renowned Malian nonuplets had their first birthday.

The nine infants were delivered on May 4, 2021, and they now hold the Guinness World Records record for the greatest number of live births. The previous record was eight children born to “Octomom” Nadya Suleman (USA) in 2009.

They are all currently crawling. Some of them are sitting up and, with support, may even be able to walk. Abdelkader Arby, their father, acknowledged that “it’s not easy”

The record-breaking infants, together with their 26-year-old mother Halima Cissé, are still under the care of the Moroccan facility where they were delivered. Nurses are on hand to assist in caring for Mrs. Cissé and her nine babies while they are residing in a specially furnished apartment owned by the clinic.

To make sure the kids get all the nutrients they need, a stringent diet has also been implemented. The family is hosting a modest birthday celebration with just a few nurses and their apartment building neighbours. Nonuplets are incredibly uncommon; prior to the Cissé children, no instance of nine kids from a single birth lasting longer than a few hours had been documented.

When the Mali government sent Mrs. Cissé to the Ain Borja Clinic in Morocco for specialised care, two more babies were discovered; initially, doctors in Mali believed she was carrying seven. Dr. Fanta Siby, Mali’s minister of health, stated shortly after the birth that “the newborns and the mother are all doing well.”

The infants were immediately placed in incubators to ensure their survival, and for several months they were under the care of paediatric neonatologist Khalil Msaif at the clinic. Abdelkader, the couple’s devoted husband and a sailor in the Malian Navy, stayed in Mali during the pregnancy to look after the couple’s three-year-old daughter. He was able to reconnect with his family in October 2021 and share the first images of the unharmed infants.

Abdelkader remarked at the time that it was a marvel because “all of them are getting along quite well and are a joy to look after.”
